Christie Medical Holdings, Inc. presented the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing with an in-kind gift of a VeinViewer® Vision vein finder for the nursing school simulation
lab. This donation will help students as they learn how to start an IV and draw blood, combining technology with traditional technique.

Conroy, EdD, MSN, RN, CNE, Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing. “This high tech device will provide students with a state-of-the-art venipuncture techniques and vital hands-on skills.”
The Christie VeinViewer system is the first and only device to use harmless near-infrared light to detect patient vasculature and then project a real-time, high definition image of the vein pattern directly on the skin surface. Nurses can quickly find more options for accessing a patient’s veins. A more thorough assessment with VeinViewer means patients may avoid multiple needle sticks and possible future complications sometimes associated with peripheral IV (PIV) access.
